The Mountville Swim Team is looking for a Head Coach for the 2024 summer swim season. Our team provides a competitive summer swimming program and encourages good sportsmanship, goal setting, teamwork, and friendship to the youth of the community. Job Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to fill the position of Mountville Swim Team Summer Swim Head Coach. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the summer swim team, including planning and conducting practices, organizing meets, and fostering a positive and supportive team environment. This is a seasonal position, with a focus on providing a fun and engaging experience for young swimmers while promoting skill development and sportsmanship.
Responsibilities:
- Practice Planning and Execution:
- •Develop and implement age-appropriate practice plans that focus on skill development, endurance, and technique.
- •Provide constructive feedback and guidance to swimmers to enhance their individual and team performance.
- Team Management:
- •Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that encourages sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth.
- •Communicate effectively with swimmers, parents, and assistant coaches to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone.
- Meet Organization:
- •Plan, coordinate, and execute swim meets, including developing lineups, coordination with other team(s), and ensuring compliance with league rules.
- Skill Assessment:
- •Conduct skill assessments for swimmers and provide recommendations for individualized training plans.
- •Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance overall team performance.
- Safety, Supervision, and Sportsmanship:
- •Ensure the safety and well-being of all swimmers during practices and competitions.
- •Implement and enforce safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- •Ensure all coaches, contestants and spectators know and follow the Lancaster Sumer Swim League sportsmanship rules.
- Communication:
- •Actively communicate to swimmers, coaching staff, parents, & swim board.
- •Maintain open and regular communication with parents regarding practice schedules, meet details, and overall team progress.
- •Address any concerns or inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
Qualifications:
- •Previous coaching experience with a focus on youth swim programs.
- •Current lifeguard and CPR certifications.
- •Knowledge of competitive swimming rules and regulations.
- •Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- •Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
- •Organizational and time management abilities.
Compensation: Compensation will be negotiated based on experience and prevailing coaching contract rates.
